New summer exhibitions

Two new exhibitions open at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum with a reception from 5 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. The first, “The School of Night,” centers on the mystical and emotional impressions of Cuban-American artist Arturo Rodríguez. In the second, the museum draws from its extensive and multicultural permanent collection to present “25 sq. inches: The Faces of the Permanent Collection,” through 53 works covering a wide range of the face depicted in painting, prints, photography and sculpture. Teengirl Fantasy performs at PAMM

Pérez Art Museum Miami presents “Teengirl Fantasy featuring Hoody” 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday, June 19 as part of its outdoor music series with concerts by an eclectic range of internationally-acclaimed DJs and musicians every third Thursday. More time for Bob Adelman

NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale will extend the presentation of “The Movement: Bob Adelman and Civil Rights Era Photography,” an exhibition featuring 100 iconic images captured by one of the most influential photographers of the era, through July 13 to honor the 50th anniversary of two key dates: the passage of the Civil Rights Act by the U.S. Senate on June 19, 1964, and its signing into law by President Lyndon Johnson on July 2, 1964.
