Accessible Art: Nicolas Lobo's The Leisure Pit opens at PAMM and Cuban artist Sandra Ramos exhibits at Tub Gallery

Lobo’s Leisure Pit

Pérez Art Museum Miami commissioned Miami-based artist Nicolas Lobo to create a site-based installation for one of its project galleries. Lobo’s “The Leisure Pit” is an ensemble of mixed-media sculptures cast inside a swimming pool to explore the demands of private leisure activities on public infrastructural systems. Arrhythmic Suite at MDC

Miami Dade College Museum of Art + Design is hosting a conversation between Miami-based artist Odalis Valdivieso and Berlin-based writer, curator and researcher, Federica Bueti discussing Valdivieso’s exhibition Arrhythmic Suite currently on view at the museum. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 and is free and open to the public with RSVP to jbrodsky@mdc.edu (space is limited). Tub Gallery presents “Revisited Mythologies” by Cuban artist Sandra Ramos with an opening reception Friday, April 24 from 7 – 10 p.m. Ramos’ sculptural work establishes a conceptual relationship with literature, mythology, and a universal philosophy that requires the use of the viewers’ imagination.
