Miami-based graffiti artist Jona Cerwinske, who frequently leaves his mark in Wynwood with edgy murals and is renowned for drawing elaborate designs on a Lamborghini with a Sharpie permanent marker, was commissioned to paint the walls of the Dragon Lounge atop Katsuya at the SLS South Beach. Zoolens at Zoo Miami
Mercantil Commercebank in partnership with Zoo Miami and the Zoological Society of Florida launched the 2014 ZoolensSM Photography Project, a month-long contest encouraging middle school students of both public and private schools in Miami-Dade County to visit Zoo Miami, photograph their favorite animal and enter the photo for a chance to win prizes. The 2014 project runs from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 and students must submit an original, artistic photograph of a Zoo Miami animal before Nov. 1.
