New at CIFO

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation is showing 110 pieces by 72 artists who share their interpretations and philosophies of abstraction in the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection. “Impulse, Reason, Sense, Conflict” is the first CIFO exhibit curated by the foundation itself and is on view through March 8, 2015 at the CIFO Art Space, 1018 N. Myth and Machines at The Wolfsonian

The Wolfsonian-FIU presents the “Takeover Tour with Kathleen Hudspeth,” founder of Turn-Based Press and printmaking professor at New World School of the Arts, Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 7 – 7:45 p.m. Co-led by Wolfsonian curator Jon Mogul, the tour will focus on prints in the special exhibition “Myth and Machines: The First World War in Visual Culture.” 1001 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Free with admission to the museum, which is $7 for adults; $5 for seniors, students and children; and free for members and students, faculty and staff of the State University System of Florida. A talk with Marty Margulies 

NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale launches a new series of public talks bringing leading art collectors to the museum to share their insights on the art of collecting. Miami-based Martin Z. Margulies kicks off  “Art Collectors Perspectives” Sunday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. in the museum’s Horvitz Auditorium at 1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Other upcoming speakers in the series include Jane Holzer, Douglas Cramer, Hubert Bush, and Pearl and Stanley Goodman. All talks are free with museum admission, which is free for members, NSU students, faculty, staff and children under 12; $10 adults; $7 seniors and military; $5 students.
