A 12-hour party in Wynwood to celebrate Latin America? Bring it on.

Get ready to rumba, Miami! On Saturday, July 15, SWARM and iHeart’s Tu 94.9 will present a totally revamped way to celebrate Latin culture in Miami with a free, all-day event in Wynwood. Running from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m., ‘MegaRumba’ will celebrate South Florida’s status as a melting pot, with fun activities for all ages, food trucks, and special performances by Grammy Award winning artist Marlow Rosado, Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated jam-band Locos Por Juana, Grammy Award winning production duo Play N Skillz, and Los Angeles collective LOS 5. A surprise guest will also join the mix.

The festival originated as a celebration of Colombian independence, but quickly evolved to incorporate much of Latin America. MegaRumba co-creator Tony Albelo said it helps that so many nations marked their independence in the summer month.

“With the U.S., Colombian, Peruvian and Venezuelan independence celebrations all happening in July, it just felt like the right move to make this a celebration for all,” Albelo said. “Do people love Luis Fonsi because he’s Puerto Rican? No, they love him because he makes great music. And that’s the type of Latin camaraderie we’re talking about.”

So knock back a few mojitos in the Pop Up Barú VIP Lounge and let that liquid courage fuel your salsa and bachata steps.
