O Miami Poetry Festival
Where: Various venues throughout Miami and Miami Beach
This month-long poetry celebration will feature a packed itinerary of open mics, seminars, workshops, author presentations plus a zine fair, contests and readings by poets like John Giorno and Frank Bidart.
Miami Riverday Festival
Where: Lummus Park Historic District, 250 NW North River Dr., Miami
The free festival features riverboat tours, a variety of live music, children’s activities, environmental education, historical re-enactments, art displays and more.

Longines Global Champions Tour
Where: Collins Park, 21st Street and Collins Avenue, Miami Beach
The “Super Bowl of Show Jumping” takes up residence at Collins Park on Miami Beach with three days of equestrian show jumping featuring the 44rd American Invitational on Thursday and the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix on Saturday.
Miami Beach Gay Pride
Where: Miami Beach, on Ocean Drive between 6th and 12th streets.
Make way for the rainbow flags as Miami Beach becomes ground zero for the LGBT community to celebrate their pride in an extravaganza that includes a beach party and a festival and parade down Ocean Drive. This year’s Grand Marshall is radio personality Elvis Duran.
Heineken Transatlantic Festival
Where: North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
Emerging and international artists get some love from The Rhythm Foundation every year with their Transatlantic Festival, a showcase of up-and-coming musicians from around the globe. Things kick off Friday with performances by Beirut, Troker and Kazoots. Saturday night’s lineup includes EMEFE, Psychic Mirrors, Chantil Dukart and Sunset raga.
Spring Garden Festival at Fairchild
Where: Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables
See what’s growing at Fairchild during its annual showcase of spring plants, plus sample local foods, learn how to tend your own garden, shop for veggies from local vendors and enjoy hands-on activities and culinary demonstrations.
Miami International Agriculture, Horse and Cattle Show
Where: Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St., Miami
Check out premium show cattle from around the world, the Paso Fino horse show, the farm animal exhibition, horseback skills demos, plus kids’ activities and more farm life fun at this agribusiness event.
Tortuga Music Festival
Where: Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, 1100 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale
Held on the white sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, Tortuga Music Festival is a multi-day, multi-stage music festival featuring some of the biggest names in country, rock and roots music. Just a few names in this year’s lineup: Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Michael Franti & Spearhead and many more.

Redland Blues and Barbecue Festival
Where: Fruit & Spice Park, 24801 SW 187th Ave., Homestead
Chow down on barbecue and listen to blues and country music then enjoy activities including a Miccosukee Indian alligator show, interactive zone by Homestead Miami Speedway, bungee jumping, rock climbing and pony rides.
Miami Bash 2016
Where: AmericanAirlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami
A blowout concert featuring some of the top Latin artists including J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Alex Sensation, Farruko, Zion y Lennox, Jacob Forever, Cosculluela, Ken-Y, Chacal y Yakarta, De La Ghetto, Reykon and many more.
Miami International Jazz Festival
