Diners seeking a sophisticated meal with an ambiance which would fit right in with any other homey yet upscale foodie’s paradise in France should definitely take a note of The Food Gang in Surfside, which offers the same type of ambiance without the need of a passport.

Located a few blocks from Bal Harbour, the quite Surfside bistro and tapas bar greets customers with a selection of white plush seating underneath a warm orange glow where you can choose to snuggle with your honey as you sip on one of their signature drinks -such as the tart and citrusy Orange Twist Martini or elegant double-flute champagne drink Mr. and Mrs. Smith - while waiting to nibble on the restaurant’s mix of homey and high end cuisine. Feeling adventurous tonight? Order the menu’s Surfside Grilled Calamari as an appetizer then sink your teeth into a Wahoo Filet delivered fresh from Tobago. Craving a taste from mom’s kitchen? Then stick with dining on Chef Paul’s Meaty Lasagna,  served hot and with a smile on a bed of delicious meat marinara sauce.

The location just welcomed a new dinner menu which includes tempting starters priced from $8 to $21 and entrées priced from $14-$46. Craving a different dessert after a satisfying meal? Make sure to indulge on a chocolate martini, the Food Gang fresh limoncello or your choice of sorbets, cakes and sweet offerings from the short, but perfectly sweet, dessert menu.

The Food Gang opened in January 2007 by Patrick Charpentier from France who has taken his passion for food and wine to new heights by recreating the restaurant’s fresh take on cuisine, resulting on the restaurant’s selective and impressive wine list. Executive Chef Paul Anthony Morello, formerly of Mezzaluna in Ismir, Turkey, Vinton Townhouse in Coral Gables, and the fabled Café Chauveron in Bay Harbor Islands, oversees the culinary team at The Food Gang, and manage the restaurant’s new Gourmet Company, the on-site gourmet shop. The store offers fresh premium charcuterie and cheeses, housemade pastries, prepared foods made daily and imported coffees, Fauchon chocolates and Cipriani fancy dry pastas.
