Super Bowl Fan Zone
From meeting players to sampling sodas and listening to music, Ocean Drive will have it all.
So where can you go on South Beach, get a Super Bowl and NFL related experience, and not have to spend and big bucks?
Ocean Drive, of course.
Not only will ESPN's SportsCenter desk and the NFL Network be anchored there (so you can see your favorite announcers), and Dan Patrick plans to broadcast his daily radio show from there as well in his "Man Cave" DirecTV bus, but the Super Bowl Fan Zone will be the NFL’s only official area for fans on South Beach.
The Fan Zone is open and free to the public beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3 through Saturday, Feb. 6 and is located off Ocean Drive and 8th Street.
The Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam and Pepsi Música Super Bowl Fan Jam concert series will headline the four days of activities with appearances by Rihanna, Timbaland and Friends & Justin Bieber on Thursday night, Feb. 4 and Nelly Furtado, Paulina Rubio & Pitbull on Friday night, Feb. 5.
The Super Bowl Fan Zone will be open:
- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 3;
- 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4;
- 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5;
- 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6.
The Fan Zone will be home to sponsor areas including:
- Coors Light Beer Garden
- Sprint Phone-A-Friend
- Bank of America Extra Points sign ups
- GMC vehicle displays
- Bridgestone football tire toss
- Comcast Red Zone
- McDonald’s DJ and sampling
- Canon interactive photo exhibit
- Boost Mobile activation
- Pepsi Refresh promotion
- Hunt Auctions and Sports Memorabilia Appraisal
There will also be a Super Bowl merchandise store featuring New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts gear, the Stadium Collection as well as NFL merchandise and Pepsi Fan Jam merchandise.
Several of the activation areas will feature player appearances throughout the four days.
One of the main areas to meet NFL players will be at the Sprint Phone-A-Friend booth, where fans will have the opportunity to have NFL stars like Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jaguars call friends and family directly from Sprint mobile phones on South Beach. Players will also appear to take photos with fans at Canon’s interactive photo exhibit, and Bengals star Chad Ochocinco will be on hand to help sample McDonalds’ new Mac Snack Wrap.
The Super Bowl Fan Zone at South Beach will also be home to the fourth annual Tazón Latino Flag Football Game on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 2 to 5 p.m. The taped nationally televised game on Telemundo features former NFL players and Latino celebrities.
Fans may also attend the NFL Auction for a chance to get authentic, one-of-a-kind memorabilia straight from the playing field. Hunt Auctions, a sports memorabilia auction company based in Exton, PA, is partnering with the NFL to produce a live as well as silent auction of historical and modern era football items. Proceeds from the auction go to charities designated by the NFL, NFL PLAYERS and participating NFL teams.
