Food Delivery at the Park
So you’re at a park and you forgot to pack lunch. Fear not. Here are four spots that happily deliver sustenance to area parks.
Call on South Beach’s SuViche to deliver all manner of cured fish and maki rolls off their extensive menu like their Citrus Fire roll (mango, tuna, chili-infused eel sauce) with some sashimi-style whitefish.
SuViche, 1119 16th St., Miami Beach; 305-777-3555
If this were a regular ol’ day at the office, a regular ol’ salad would be fine. But it’s not. And so, your salad shall look like a fajita. One that’s tossed with sizzling steak, sautéed onions and jack cheese.
Jimmy’z Kitchen, 1542 Alton Rd, Miami Beach; 305-534-8216
Things that make park excursions fun: slides. Large expanses of green. Squirrels. And a crispy slice of blistering dough topped with life-affirming mozzarella and meatballs heading straight for your face. Feel free to share with the wildlife.
Moncheese Pizza, 9459 Harding Ave., Surfside; 305-868-6499
Sure, you could go the traditional burrito route. But why do that when this little gem churns out deliciously fresh ceviche and portable seafood snacks. This is what you’ll want: a grilled tortilla stuffed with octopus, queso fresco and coconut rice.
My Ceviche, 235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-397-8710
Simba Natural Mosquito Repellent Sticker
Mosquitoes were born to bite us, and aside from lighting worthless tiki candles, haplessly swatting them away or resorting to spraying toxic DEET all over ourselves, there’s really not a whole lot we can do about it. Imagine, then, if you could be encapsulated in an anti-mosquito bubble simply by wearing a small square sticker. Infused with three days’ worth of citronella to ward off biting insects like mosquitoes, flies, gnats and no-see-ums, these stickers attach to everything from backpacks to shoes. The DEET-free formula makes it prime for kid-friendly protection. 16 pcs; available for $8.99 on Amazon.com
Lazee Move Combo
Whether you're always the one volunteering to bring drinks and soccer balls, or you just happen to have a lot of park paraphernalia at the ready, The Lazee Move Combo ($309) will make hauling all of your "junk" so much easier. This combo comes with the rolling unit (which doubles as a side table), the comfortable beach chair and accessories, plus a cargo net. The extremely durable 11-inch wheels are made to roll through sand. To shop this product and see all that this company has to offer, head over to www.beachtuff.com.
