Here are some picks to start your hunt in Miami-Dade county

Solid Gold, 2355 Sunny Isles Blvd., North Miami, 305-956-5726. Open Mon-Fri, 3 p.m.-6 a.m., 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Sat-Sun.
Large but not cavernous, this outpost of the Solid Gold strip club chain strives for an upscale feel in the lighting and furnishings. Despite all the glitz, it's still your basic nudie bar with private VIP rooms and champagne service that can run $500 or more (hint: that gets you a lot more than just bubbly.). On a recent visit, we found hot dancers, but the girls seemed a bit standoffish unless you were dropping big bucks.

Formerly known as Treasure Island, this recently remodeled club is centrally located, just off the junction of the Palmetto Expressway and I-75. You’ll find multiple stages, comfy chairs, and, even on a slow night, at least a dozen women dancers strutting their stuff. Be aware that when asking for change for a $20 bill to tip the dancers, the waitress returned with $2 bills – a clever attempt to boost those tips.

BT's Gentlemen's Club, 5922 S. Dixie Hwy, South Miami, 305-663-4567. Open 3 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday-Saturday, 7 p.m.-5 a.m Sundays.
By South Florida standards, BT’s is a small, intimate club. That means the several small stages and main bar can be cramped at peak weekend evenings. Unlike many clubs, BT’s is nestled in the South Miami entertainment district, which means you’ll find plenty of good restaurants nearby. The women on the night we visited seemed to have an abundance of tattoos, so if that's a turnoff, be warned.

One of the more audacious strip clubs in both size and ambition. Tootsie’s packs ‘em in with a Vegas vibe, from the faux casino-like decorations to the elaborate main stage with curtained entrance. Dozens of dancers were working on the weeknight we visited and nearly all were gorgeous and friendly.
