We spotted mom-of-two Melisa Mendez Chantres on Lincoln Road. She makes the little back dress look anything but b-o-r-i-n-g. Plus, her Chanel cross-body bag is to die. Here, my fellow fashionistas, are her stylish stats:
Name: Melisa Mendez Chantres
Spotted at: Ice Box on Lincoln Road
Profession: President of boutique PR firm Everett Clay Associates
Ethical background: Cuban American
The outfit: Black Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, Chanel quilted wallet on a chain, Lola James necklace and bracelet, Cartier Tank watch and Via Spiga shoes.
Go-to department stores and boutiques: “Studio LX for something special, Nordstrom for everyone and everything, Savvy Girl and Moondrops for something really cute, plus I love that they e-mail me pictures and I can just pick out what I want, Peace Love World for fun tanks and T-shirts, The Fashionista Consignment Boutique when I’m cleaning out my closets or looking for some great second-hand items and net-a-porter.com for those hard-to-find items,” Chantres says.
Must-have purchases for summer: “A one-of-a-kind Lola James necklace that I saw on a very fashion-forward friend of mine! I’m also looking to purchase a new Milly bikini for my summer vacation and am finally giving in and buying Hunter rain boots because this weather is nuts,” Chantres adds.
Closet staples: DVF wrap dresses for work, all types of jeans and tunics for the weekends running around with her girls and cute headbands for bad hair days.
Biggest crime against fashion ever committed: “Z. Cavaricci's were the worst,” Chantres says.
Worst fashion faux pas: “Scrungies — all and any type and old school hair clips,” she says.
Style muses: “Jennifer Garner because she can rock the red carpet but is practical during the day, which I can relate to. I also love Gwyneth Paltrow's fashion style. I would never wear half the stuff she wears, but I love Gwen Stefani, too. She is my inner rock star muse,” Chantres adds.
