Lauren and her staff have created a true haven in downtown Coral Gables. It's evident that minute care has been put in designing the spa with the clients' needs and wants in mind. "Facing the Day" is more enjoyable now!... Read more

Definitely 5 stars for Lauren's Face the Day! I have been going to Lauren for my facials consistently every month for about 6 years now and will continue to follow her wherever her career takes her! Not only does she care about each and every one of her clients according to skin type and what works best for "you" as an indivudual... but she's there as a friend if you want to vent after a long work day or will leave you in peace and quiet when you just need a break from the world. The lowdown: You often find yourself fantasizing at work about what life would be like as a lady who lunches or, perhaps, a kept man - but then you remember you're more burger and fries than tartar and seaweed. So maybe a daylong spa visit doesn't fit in your hectic executive schedule, but an invigorating peel or a cleansing facial treatment in just under two hours can definitely find its way into your Outlook calendar. Quick treatments, affordable prices, quality service and the refreshingly sweet (and many times therapeutic) owner Lauren Sales are what make Lauren's Face the Day Skin Care so special.

After sharing space with other spas around town for over 13 years, Sales ventured off on her own and opened a humble space with three homey treatment rooms dressed in earth tones. The day spa is known for its skin care treatments, but you'll also find eye and lip treatments, as well as the cellulite treatment endermologie (Kim Kardashian getting her booty vacuumed on Keeping up with the Kardashians ring a bell?).

"My favorite part of my job are my clients," says Sales. Which is evident in the way she works to rearrange appointments to please every client. A strict no-cell phone policy is enforced and noise is kept to a minimum so the sounds of ocean waves and piano strokes played through the speakers can be enjoyed. And in case you forgot, there's a sign at the entrance that reads, "Please speak softly. This is a quiet place."

The 'hood: Located in Coral Gables, just off of LeJeune on a quiet street, Lauren makes sure your stress-free visit begins upon arrival, which means being able to find plenty of meter parking.

The vibe: Earthy and clean. Tranquil yet re-energizing.

The highlights: Best sellers include the Classic European Facial ($70), the teen Blemished Skin Treatment ($65) and the Myoxy-Caviar High Performance anti-aging treatment. The Escutox Freeze Dried Treatment promises a natural alternative to Botox(r) ($90). Each procedure includes steam, a warm hand treatment, a skin-tightening mask and a mini massage, which is more than enough reason to return (keeping the awkward teen years in mind, teens skip the massage).

The sweet deal: Mention this story and get a complimentary eye treatment (valued at $30) with the purchase of a Classic European Facial ($70). Also purchase 10 endermologie sessions ($650) and receive a free Body Mask Peel (valued at $98).
