South Beach Comedy Festival is bringing funny back

 

Will Farrell, Lewis Black, Donald Glover and Aziz Ansari are just a few of the big names that will be in Miami Beach to make you laugh.

The nation's funniest people will converge on Miami Beach Feb. 29 through Mar. 3rd for the seventh annual South Beach Comedy Festival.

The Festival kicks off Wednesday, Feb. 29 with the world premiere of Will Ferrell's comedy, La Casa de Mi Padre, where Farrell shows off his novela-worthy Spanish and kicks it with Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, Mexico's Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Headlining are politically-charged neurotic Lewis Black, Community's Donald Glover, Parks & Recreation funnyman Aziz Ansari, performing at the Fillmore Miami Beach.  Last Comic Standing finalist Amy Schumer,  Rob Delany, John Wynn and former 30 Rock writer Hannibal Buress perform at Backstage at the Fillmore, while you can catch Roastmaster Jeffrey Ross and Marc Maron at The Colony Theatre.  

Shaq's All-Star Comedy Jam returns with a line-up including Tommy Davidson, Capone, Gary Owen and others. 

Sketch comedy and comedic duos will be representing: Key & Peele, veterans of sketch comedy show MadTV will showcase original sketch-comedy from their new Comedy Central show. Also, homegrown comedy duo A Pair of Nuts will bring their multi-media sketch comedy show to Backstage at The Fillmore on Mar. 3. Sketch comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U' Know, who have a show by the same name on the IFC channel, are on the roster as well.

The events take place at several venues including the Fillmore Miami Beach, the Colony Theater and the Lincoln Road Stage at Euclid Avenue, which will feature free comedy shows every night at 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
