Lauren Silverman, the wife of one of The X-Factor judge Simon Cowell’s best friends and the woman who is said to be 10 weeks pregnant with Cowell’s baby, is just “a nice girl from Miami Beach!” So says her mom, Aventura area real-estate professional Carole Saland. Silverman, 36, wife of millionaire New York developer Andrew Silverman, was caught in the eye of a tabloid storm this week when word leaked she was expecting a child from Cowell, an original judge on American Idol. The most awkward thing: The Silvermans and Cowell used to hang out on the Silvermans’ expensive yacht. “She doesn’t deserve all of this bad publicity,” Saland told Us Weekly while visiting her daughter on Long Island. “Things happen in life. [We are] living in 2013. Her marriage was not a marriage made in heaven and life goes on, people go on.” Silverman is going through a divorce, but husband Andrew cited adultery as his reason to file and named Cowell in the divorce papers. Lauren’s dad, Hallandale retiree Stevens Davis, did not return calls for comment about his daughter.

It just gets tawdrier by the day. The Hallandale Beach socialite Simon Cowell allegedly impregnated partook in some pretty scandalous behavior, even as a teen.

The New York Daily News reports that Lauren  left Miami Country Day School after having an affair with a married English teacher, transferring to  University School in Davie when her mom Carole Saland got wind of her forbidden trysts.
Fellow classmates told the paper that  Silverman (nee Davis) was 16 and a sophomore when she began a fling with Steve Lewis, 10 years her senior. The two got intimate while away at Camp Aurora Christian Camp in Lake Wales, Fl.
“They were having a two-month sexual affair,” a former classmate blabbed. “Everybody in the upper school knew what was going on. It was a huge deal, especially for a little private school.”

Lewis, also the junior varsity football coach, was asked to resign but his marriage stayed intact, and the couple moved to Montana,  according to London’s The Mail on Sunday. Apparently, no charges were filed.

“He had to leave town because of this bimbo!” father Peter Lewis told the outlet.

A call to the alumni/media relations office at Miami Country Day went unanswered Monday.

A call to the alumni/media relations office at Miami Country Day went unanswered Monday but a call to the University School did confirm a person named Lauren Davis graduated in 1995, but the first name was spelled “Lauryn.”

Though Cowell and Silverman (already a mother of one) are not an item, he will provide for the baby, according to widespread UK reports.
