Miami's only Ethiopian restaurant is an oasis in an up and coming neighborhood, serving exotically spiced wats and dibs (stews and dry curry-like dishes) in a sleek, sultry, earth-toned space. It is sunlit during day and sparkles with candles at night as diners eat communally, seated on low stools around wicker tables. The table is draped with spongy, sourdough pancake-like injera bread that serves as a plate, and various meat vegetable, and lentil wats are ladled on top. Diners eat with their fingers (utensils are available), tearing the bread to scoop up the curries. Doro wat brings chicken cooked in berbere (thick, peppery spice paste), gomen wat is collards with onions and spices and beg wat is lamb in spice paste with red wine. Lunch adds wraps and salads.
