Art Vision Gallery from Miami had an outstanding collection of interesting work, especially from one of its artists, Daniela Wicki, certainly considered from my perspective, the Best of Show. The artist combines glass and mosaics nicely illuminated. A coffee table with a stainless steel frame lighting up the art work from underneath and creating a visual blanket on the glass. The same with framed painting on the walls. They all become some sort of sculptures with a unique lighted accent. The artist also displayed an installation with a live duo of strings musicians with the main intermittently lighted piece surrounded by blackboard walls where people with colored chalks expressed an opinion or comments.Among other notable artists with this gallery, Jaime Gil with a mixed media melted wax on canvas created geometric shapes and figures and played with different color tones. Elena Lasala, Chenco and Armando Villegas had their signatures pieces showcased as well. Diana Lowenstein always representing outstanding talent had another Best of Show as well, this time with painting on a painting, beautifully crafted by Peruvian artist Cecilia Paredes. This booth is a must see. Special mention to Latitude ArtProjects from Puerto Rico with colombian artist Sara Modiano and a video installation with an unusual screen as a backdrop (16 stuffed pillows) from artist Sebastian Patanemasuelli among others. The Sculptures of Baston Diaz at the entrance, quite impressive. Lastly Argentinian artist Alicia Antich who had a hanging pendulum with a black pen fountain drawing on paper the movements of earth. Her outstanding work inspired on Galileo Galilei and conceptualist Marcel Duchamp. Awesome! Although the inaugural night was packed with high level collectors and personalities the feeling of closing deals was hard to grasp. We have to wait until the end to see how much was sold. Thursdays and Fridays the atmosphere of the place is definitely very Miami. Live Latin Jazz basically makes you think you are somewhere else. The place, the food, the people, very underground and unique.Musicians like trumpeter Renoir Rodriguez and guitarist Alberto Escobedo among many others play their tunes with a smooth swing. The backdrop scene is more than amazing. Ask permission to check the corridor of that former Bank and discover the art deco shapes on the ceilings, walls and solid brass elevator doors! That's an ideal setting for fashion shows and private events. The only drawback, no A/C or bathrooms but the place has a character like no other.
