Beautiful space, great atmosphere, inventive menu, attentive service....Not much you can complain about in this renovated bank building in the heart of Miami's Design District. One nit -- the wine was warm....how did that happen?
This is a great new neighborhood spot with straightforward menu, tasty entrees and better-than-usual service.
Cavas is a great place for tasting. Great selection and knowledgeable assistance.
Nobody does it better than Dewey!
Cefalo's has the potential to be a great Miami time, but a ways to go to get there. It's a nicely designed market, wine bar/tasting room and restaurant. Wine list is long and strong. Restaurant menu is varied and appealing. But....we've eaten there twice and each time the service has been lacking. Most recent visit, we sent back half our entres for a re-do (the waitress was surprised by how the food was prepared and presented; "new menu," she said). One of our guests in a large party was served 40 minutes after the rest of the group. It's a place I'd love to see succeed and I'd like to recommend. Can't imagine either happening yet.
Joe Allen offers consistently good food served by smart and reliable wait staff in South Beach. How rare is that? The menu is varied enough that you can bring a group safe in the knowledge that everyone will find something they want to order and the entree will be very good. Great desserts, excellent burgers, nice bar, too. A place we keep coming back to....
Interesting Vietnamese, Thai and Sushi menu. Good crispy duck, decent Pad Thai but the tofu curry dish left a lot to be desired. Desert of fried bananas with ice cream was a hit for our table....Overall, seemed a bit overpriced for the location and quality.
This is a really cool space, and the sushi was excellent. We had delicious lobster rolls and a unique roll that featured shrimp wrapped in proscuito with a citrus dipping sauce. But....the service was a lot more South Beach than Design District -- waited nearly an hour between appetizer and main course, and only got served after asking if we'd been forgotten. Based on the food, I'd give them another chance.
Great place to drink a cup and meet a cop, gets better after midnight
The re-do is pretty good.
