Q and A: Vanessa Minnillo

In between events at the Rally at the Raleigh sponsored by Victoria's Secret Pink, we caught up with Vanessa Minnillo inside the VIP tents to talk about Miami, flirting moms, and favorites.
Q: Do you have any Miami memories?
A: To be honest, everytime I come here it's for an event. I have come for the VMAs (MTV Video Music Awards) and the Super Bowl. I don't think I can pick one thing about Miami. But, about the Raleigh, one thing I do remember, about five years ago, in another lifetime, I was upstairs for the VMAs and I was hanging out with the Black Eyed Peas, and my boyfriend now (wasn't then), Nick, walks in and my mother starts flirting with him. 'I wanna dance with you.' And of course at the time he was like, 'Thanks, but I am sorry, I am married.' And my mom was like, 'So? So am I.' I was embarassed and mortified. I grabbed her and we left.
Cut to now, and I told Nick I was going to the Raleigh, and he said 'Oh, where your mom hit on me?' I guess he didn't forget. Leave it to mom to embarass her daughter. Whatever. Years later we are happily ever after.
Q: You ever get a chance to relax in Miami?
A: Miami is such a fun, clean, controlled party environment, and when I do come here it's never to relax. And that's not a bad thing. It's just fun.
Q: Do you have any favorite Miami restaurants?
A: Honest to God, I love everything Miami has to offer. One time we may stay at the Raleigh and go eat at Nobu. And another time I stayed at the Versace Mansion, and we ate in, ordered room service. It depends on what you want and what you come for. I feel like it's a fantasy book and there is a new chapter every time. Miami has it's own spark and flare.
Q: When someone says Miami, what comes to mind?
A: Sexy party.
