The Pubbelly empire expands to Italian this spring as the team behind Pubbelly, Pubbelly Sushi and Barcolonetta open Macchialina Taverna Rustica on Alton Rd. Located in the former Silvano space, the "rustic Italian eatery" will feature "simple; clean flavors, fresh ingredients and rustic accents." Think salumi, house-made terrines & pizzas and pork chop Milanese. The Pubbelly team is partnering with chef Michael Pirolo (Scarpetta), who plans to add his specialties like taleggio and braised short rib lasagna and cavatelli “Macchialina” with ragu Napoletano and pecorino.
