NoMi may or may not become the next SoBe, but the Luna Star Cafe in North Miami brings to mind another storied neighborhood: Greenwich Village. Think coffeehouse, troubadors and a bohemian vibe. The Luna Star welcomes a steady stream of local, regional (and occasionally, national) acoustic acts to its cozy stage, but don't mistake the friendly vibe for mellowness -- you WILL be shushed, as the sign at the door announces, if you talk during performances. It's not all folkie -- blues, acoustic jazz, bluegrass, comedy, open mics and even storytelling are also served up, along with made-to-order pizzas, sandwiches, salads, pasta, espresso and dessert. An added bonus: No dress code, but proprietor Alexis Sanfield advises you "wear something weird."
