Mexican chef Ernesto Zendejas with a $10 tuna carpaccio.
There's a new French-trained Mexican chef in town, Ernesto Zendejas, who comes to us from Mexico City via Lyon. But if you're looking for an intimate setting for a romantic dinner, call the Pria brothers at Eduardo San Angel or Anita's Gourmet Mexicano. If you've got your sights on a rollicking good time, Zendejas' Tequila Ranch is the place.
A rowdy mechanical bull that takes patrons for a wild ride is the main attraction at this South of the Border themed restaurant and club. You'll feel like you've entered a Mexican hacienda as soon as you walk in. Its cantina, decorated with festive piƱatas, serves icy Margaritas. Beers are $2 and tequila shots $3 on College Night, Thursdays from 10 p.m. Djs spin Spanish rock and Latin pop Thursdays through Saturdays until 4 a.m. and strolling Mariachis serenade guests.
