Ambience: The counter-service eatery is outfitted with dark, repurposed wood walls, colorful Mexican piñatas, a stainless steel counter and a handful of stools.
The grub: A modern twist on classic tacos. Prices are street-food friendly: $3.29 tacos, $6.79 enchiladas, $9.79 salads $9.79 and $5 beers.
Starters include grilled corn with lime, cotija cheese and cilantro; house-made tortilla chips with salsa trio, guacamole or queso blanco, and nachos with queso blanco, cotija cheese, refried black beans, tomato, onion, pickled jalapeño and cilantro.
Tacos range from classic carnitas and grilled mahi to fried chicken with jalapeño cornbread and short rib with pickled jalapeño and sweet-heat coleslaw. Vegetarian options include the Guaco (fried avocado, guacamole, grilled veggies and tofu crema) and the Hongos Majicos (charred mushrooms, grilled veggies and tofu crema).
Pair with Mexican beer, frozen margaritas, corn chowder, funnel cake or coconut paletas (fresh fruit pops).
