Who: Nina Johnson, owner of Gallery Diet and the wife of Daniel Milewski, owner of Lester's.
What: The Wynwood pioneer is organizing a one-night vintage pop-up dubbed The Vintage Salon. The inaugural event will bring together pieces from the 1920's to the early 1990's and include a range of designers, including pieces by Versace, Missoni, Fendi, and Etienne Aigner.
Johnson has reached out to a network of stylists from around the country, "The idea is to present pieces which the public wouldn't usually have access to in Miami, of course you can always shop online, but here clients will have the opportunity to try on pieces and see them in person, something that's key when picking out a vintage wardrobe." There will also be a range in price. Johnson says, "Because this is our first event we don't want to alienate clients by presenting pieces that are unaffordable or inaccessible. The majority of pieces will be under $100. That's not say there aren't a few show stopper designer pieces that are priced around $500, but those are just a few little notes for people who want to splurge."
The Vintage Salon will also include a range of pieces for men. Johnson’s husband admits to the frustration of often finding ladies vintage in Miami, but only ever seeing t-shirts and ties for men — not so at The Vintage Salon. Vests, button down shirts, and even men's accessories will also be available.
Expect to find: A Gold Versace Complice 80's oversized power blazer, a 1930's silk "courthouse" wedding dress with hand embroidered lapels, an adorable pink Terry 1970's Missoni tie sweater, a 1960's beach girl cocoa ribbon ensemble and more.
When: Thursday, February 23rd from 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: Lester’s, 2519 NW 2nd Ave., Wynwood.
