Reality starlets, Mr. 305 and a roomful of rich folks - it's the Blacks' Annual Gala!
When you’ve got the cream of Miami society mixed in with movers, shakers and reality stars, you know you’re in for one heck of a night. Lea
and Roy Black
held their annual gala at the EdenRoc Renaissance Hotel Saturday and there was nary a dull moment. Recently ousted Celebrity Apprentice
contestant Dionne Warwick
flew in to serenade diners with her classic That’s What Friends Are For
and Pharrell Williams
closed out the party.
During the cocktail portion, waiters passed around hors d’oeuvres including escargot and salmon mousse on giant trays held above their heads, and guests sipped on sponsor vodka Grey Goose cocktails. Maybe one too many.
An unidentified woman in an animal-print dress fell to the floor as the crowd gasped. Fire rescue was called; word is she’s OK. Girls Gone Wild
creator Joe Francis
worked the room like a politician, snapping photos and glad handing. A stay at his 40,000-square-foot Mexican Riviera mansion was up for the bidding. “It’s Jennifer Aniston’s favorite place to stay,’’ said Francis, who just divorced his wife of seven weeks, Insider
correspodent Christina McLarty.
Another interesting auction item was a language lesson from Adriana de Moura
, one of the Real Housewives of Miami,
and Lea’s good friend. The Brazilian art dealer reportedly speaks five languages.
Two other Housewives
came out to show their support at the $650-a-head bash: Marysol Patton
new husband, Philippe
) and Venue editor Alexia Echevarria,
. whose Latin society magazine was enclosed in one of the gift bags.
What happened to Larsa Pippen
and Cristy Rice
“Everyone is invited,’’ Lea Black said last week. “It is a charity; we’d be happy to take anyone’s money.’’
But Rice has to still be stinging from so-called InvoiceGate, the plot of the Bravo reality show’s entire season. Rice showed up last year with two pals, late and without paying. Black later invoiced the (ex) basketball wife and it all became very sordid.
Black has no hard feelings.
“Cristy is a free spirit who makes her own rules,’’ she said.
“She has a fun side to her, but it’s one thing to do that in your real life. It’s another to do it at the expense of volunteers and kids.’’
As for Larsa, she rarely appears at many events due to husband Scottie Pippen
’s commitments. Plus she’s on Team Cristy and lives in Broward.
Without doubt, they’ll all be present to spar on a live reunion RHOM
show 9 p.m. Tuesday. MADELEINE MARR
