Miami International Fashion Week 2011

The 13th year of this fashion week runs March 3-6 at the Miami Beach Convention Center Hall A

Attention all fashionistas: This season marks Miami International Fashion Week’s 13th year. Beginning March 3 - 6 at the Miami Beach Convention Center Hall A, President of Miami Beach International Fashion Week Beth Sobol spearheads the production which is touted as the largest International and Hispanic fashion event in the U.S. “We represent the top emerging and established fashion designers from around the world who want to enter the U.S. market and designer competitions in support of student and young designers starting their careers,” Sobol says.

Expect the Miami Beach Convention Center to be transformed into a “Fashion City” built to house all fashion shows, exhibitions and sponsor lounges as the world's fashion elite flock to Miami Beach to participate in this world-class event.

THURSDAY, MARCH 3

Lingerie and Swim Showcase with  MaddSexy Lingerie (USA), Zella Machado Swimwear (Brazil), Eugene Jones Swimwear (USA), Helen Victoria Swimwear (USA) and Sambarela Swimwear (Brazil).

Also on Thursday is the Miami Style Showcase with Julian Chang, Viviana G, Samy Gitcherman and Nicolas Felizola.

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 4

Jamaica Showcase with Camesha Powell, Juliette Dyke, Jamaican Collective, Shenna Carby and Ayanna Dixon.

Also on Friday is the Men’s Showcase with Mauricio Alberino (Dominican Republic) and Robert Flores (also Dominican Republic).

The International Eveningwear Showcase on Friday boasts Rocky Gathercole (Dubai),  Franco Montoro (Venezuela) Patuna Bushyhead (Republic of Georgia) and Baron Levon Siamanto (USA).

 

SATURDAY, MARCH 5

Pret- A- Porter Style Showcase with Eccentric Apparel (USA), LUXE Active Wear (USA), Mariela Allaix (Argentina), Marina Makaron (Moscow) and Bata Spasojevic.

The Copa Airlines Showcase on Saturday displays Claudia Bertolero (Peru), Federico Visuetti (Panama), Marcelo Quadros (Brazil), Eduardo Gonzalez (Colombia) and Giovanni Scutaro (Venezuela).

Saturday also calls for the Latin Fashion Councils Showcase with Blue Island by Madelaine Morelo (Domincian Republic
), Maria Jose Galarza (Ecuador), Paulina Anda (Ecuador), Paulina Bedoya (Ecuador) and Ana Carolina Valencia (Colombia).

 

SUNDAY, MARCH 6

Miami Moda & Music Awards show with celebrity television and radio hosts Brian Andrews and Ileana Garcia featuring a special guest designer and live performance to reveal the latest diamond and 18K gold outfits by Danasha Luxury (Lebanon) and seven creations by Miami’s top designers inspired by Miami’s most prestigious outdoor art sculptures.
