For the seventh year in a row, the Junior League of Miami will host a golf tournament to raise funds to support the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote volunteerism and to benefit its community projects. The scramble-style tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. at the famed Blue Monster golf course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa (4400 N.W. 87th Avenue). The entry fee is $250 per person; $900 for a foursome. Not a golfer? Don’t fret. You can still participate in the post-tournament cocktail reception, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. The celebratory evening will feature live music, a silent auction and raffle with fantastic prizes, and delicious cuisine. A Night in Monte Carlo
The Women in Distress Auxiliary will host the 6th Annual Gala, “A Night in Monte Carlo,” at the Signature Grand (6900 West State Road 884) in Davie. All proceeds will be donated to Women in Distress, the only nationally accredited, state-certified, full service domestic violence center serving Broward County. Every $125 ticket comes with $25 worth of play cards for the night. Cafeina Races for the Cure
Cafeina (297 NW 23rd St.) will host a series of fundraisers during the month of October. The Wynwood hot spot kicks-off the month with a silent art auction benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure Miami / Ft. Lauderdale on Oct. 1, featuring art by Stephen Gamson and a slew of regional and national artists. Cafeina will also unveil its Pink Blossom martini (vodka, hibiscus syrup, lemon bitters and a touch of rose water) and will donate a portion of proceeds from the drink all month to TEAM CAFEINA in Miami / Ft. Lauderdale Race for the Cure. Friends, family and patrons alike are also encouraged to sign up or donate to TEAM CAFEINA at the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale Race for the Cure, held at Bayfront Park on Oct. 16. Gamson, WEC at Cafeina’s featured artist for October, will close out the month with a poster signing event on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., featuring the BCA logo he created especially for Cafeina’s month-long initiative. Gamson will also donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of his artwork throughout the entire month to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Diamonds are Forever

Judge Karen Helps Casa Valentina
TV personality Judge Karen Mills Francis will host a book review and signing of her new book Stay in Your Lane: Judge Karen’s Guide to Living Your Best Life at Play Nightclub (1045 5th St.) from 7 to 9 p.m. A portion of the admission to the club and a percentage of the sales of the book from the evening will benefit Casa Valentina, a charity dedicated to helping young women transition from foster care to independent living.

Signature Chefs & Wine Extravaganza

Arsht Center Black and White Gala
Have dinner on the Arsht Center stage. This year’s gala promises to have 500 of the social set donning their best black-and-white black-tie attire to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. (Can you believe it’s been five years!?). The theme of the 5th Anniversary Season itself is “Every great performance begins with you,” so with that in mind, the Gala will celebrate the dedication of grand honorees who played an important role in the Center’s success, including Adrienne Arsht, Lin Arison/Arison Arts Foundation, Alberto and Susana Ibargüen/Knight Foundation, Parker and Vann Thomson, Woody and Judy Weiser, and Sanford and Delores Ziff.
In keeping with the performing arts theme, the Gala will be broken into acts. Act I: Cocktails in the Arthur and Alice Adams Foundation Lobby; Act II: Dedication of the Center’s newly engraved grand donor wall; Act III: Dinner by Barton G.
