The roomies want their MTV ... pay hike!
Looks like the Jersey Shore cast is going to be able to afford a lot more spray tanning sessions.
On the heels of a reported strike, the classy crew is nearing a deal on a substantial pay increase for season three, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The young roomies have reportedly been holding up production on the second half of season two after asking for $30,000 per episode following MTV's decision to split the season into two parts -- SoBe and Seaside Heights.
The cast signed a deal for season two for $10,000 after being paid $5,000 for the highly successful first season. At least somebody is happy: According to Mike "The Situation'' Sorrentino’s manager, the abbed one reached his own deal with MTV Monday
TMZ reports the former personal trainer -- who is becoming a brand with a cologne, book and iPhone app -- gets a one-time bonus of $60,000 to $180,000 for season 3, depending on the ratings for season two.
The cast signed on for season two for $10,000 after being paid a measly $5,000 for the first.
MTV released a statement, which said basically nothing: "We don't comment on any contractual conversations. Season 2 premieres July 29 and production is on schedule."
