Kelis' new album Flesh Tone, released last week, has been tipped as one of 2010's "Best Bets" by Billboard.
The David Guetta-produced single "Acapella" is already an international No. 1 hit, while the festive 4th of July (Fireworks) is a club banger that mixes R&B soulfulness and electro breaks with a rip-roaring wobbly bass riff.
Kelis says of the album, "there's a physicality behind it - it's about blood, muscle, heart. I was pregnant when I recorded 75 or 80 percent of this music...And that became a real driving force for me."
She also worked with label head will.i.am, Alle, Benny Benassi, Free School, Boys Noize and Burns to achieve her club-ready sound.
Kelis will be hitting the road this summer on a co-headline tour with Robyn.
