On April 15, Wendy and Lucky Diamond will launch their new book, "It’s a Dog’s World," a culmination of a decade of their experience in the pet business, at a Yappy Hour that will benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami. A $50 donation will allow guests and their doggies to mingle with other animal enthusiasts while sipping on signature puptails and scrumptious hound-d’oeuvres. Books will be available for purchase during the evening with a portion of sales going to the Humane Society of Greater Miami. The event takes place from 7 to 9pm, at the EPIC Hotel (270 Biscayne Blvd.).

The Transplant Foundation will host the Emerald Nights event, complete with green carpet, on Friday, April 16, at Jungle Island’s Sable Palm Plaza (1111 Parrot Jungle Trail) at 7 p.m. to benefit the local transplant communities throughout South Florida.

On Saturday April 17, the Florida Heart Research Institute presents “Driven To Dine" - a unique culinary journey. The evening will begin at 5 p.m., with a cocktail reception crafted by Le Cordon Bleu and cocktails courtesy of Pernod Richard at the palatial Coral Gables home of socialite and philanthropist Bunny Bastian. At 7 p.m., guests will be driven to a first class restaurant by limousine. Step aside Bundchen, Moss, and Klum. Some of South Florida’s philanthropic residents (many under the age of 18) will be strutting their stuff on the runway for a good cause! The Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Community Council will present the 11th Annual Hugs & Kisses Fashion Show on Sunday, April 18, at The Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove (3300 SW 27 Avenue). Fifty local children from newborns to 18-year-olds, along with some of their proud parents, grandparents, and friends, will model looks from Dadeland Mall. As part of the event program, seven local students who have made philanthropic contributions to the community will be honored with the Foundation’s Third Annual “I Make a Difference” Award. Model registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the silent auction, gourmet lunch, fashion show and awards ceremony begin at 10:30 a.m. Individual tickets are priced at $150 for adults and $25 for children 16 and under. Musical icon and legendary performer, Olivia Newton-John will host a fundraising event along with Dr. Ernie Bodai (creator of the USPS Breast Cancer Stamp) to raise funds for breast and prostrate cancer research."Pink and Blue for Two: Screen Together, Liv Together" (the “e” in “Liv” is omitted intentionally as it is short for “Olivia” and is the name of her outreach organization) will take place on Thursday, April 22 at 7 p.m. at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach (1775 Collins Avenue).
