Playboy vs. Penthouse

These gentleman's mags Super Bowl parties go head-to-head on Saturday and we see how they stack up.

By Samantha Victor

On Saturday night, gentleman's mags Playboy and Penthouse each hope to lure big names to their Super Bowl blowouts with promises of free-flowing liquor, top DJS and of course, women wearing little more than a hanky. Using a highly unscientific point system, let's see how each stacks up.

The Penthouse Superparty
Passion Nightclub at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

Five words: Adult Friend Finder Private Room. Penthouse writer Lainie Speiser blogged that partygoers will "get to be entertained by two Penthouse Pets at once" in an exclusive VIP area sponsored by Adult Friend Finder network, the online destination for those seeking a no-strings hookup. Access will cost you a thousand bucks, and besides the aforementioned Pets perk, includes all-you-can-drink table service all night long.

Those lacking a spare grand can purchase general admission to the club for $250-$500, or share table service for six people starting at $2,500. Twenty pets, including Pet of the Year Taylor Vixen, will break it down to beats spun by LMFAO's Red Foo and Sky Blu (the duo behind the infectious track I'm in Miami, Trick), plus plenty of other DJs and "special guests."

Total Pets attending: 20
Total DJs: 7 (so far)
Bonus points: For seemingly naughty VIP room concept, +5
Total score: 32

The Playboy Super Bowl Party
South Beach's Sagamore Hotel

After financial limbo forced Playboy to cancel their infamous annual Bowl soiree last year, anticipation for this year's party is waaaay up. On Saturday afternoon, crews will swarm Sagamore Hotel to transform it into debauchery headquarters, with a red carpet entrance, bars galore, elevated dance platforms, and ground-floor suites made over into luxe VIP cabanas. Sagamore is expected to be the future home of the only Playboy Club outside of Vegas, so think of all of this as a mere preview of what's to come.

Besides 20 hand-picked Playmates and Playboy Club Bunnies, tons of athletes and celebrities are slated to appear, including Tony Gonzalez (Falcons), Shawne Merriman (Chargers), Tiki Barber, Kendra Wilkinson and Joanna Krupa. At the center of this menagerie: the Black Eyed Peas, who have claimed the event as their official concert after party.

Looking to hop on over? You're not gonna get down this rabbit hole so easily. Tickets have been distributed only to select VIPs and business partners. You're not even getting into the hotel itself, which sold out for the weekend long ago.

Total bunnies attending: 20
Total DJs: 3
Bonus points: For getting to watch Fergie get her boom-boom-pow on, +5. For its exclusive nature and celeb factor, +10.
Total score: 38

Winner: Playboy, by a hare.

Slap the bunny logo on a Bowl party, and you get an event that celebrities can't resist and the everyman can't get into. On Super Bowl weekend, that kind of exclusivity trumps all.
