Paul McCartney to debut new songs live on iTunes stream
Off album Kisses on the Bottom
2/8/2012
Paul McCartney will debut the songs from his new album "Kisses on the Bottom" in a free live streaming performance on iTunes. The performance takes place at 10 p.m. EST Thursday from Capitol Studios in Los Angeles where much of the new album was recorded. "Kisses on the Bottom" is an interpretation of standards Paul grew up listening to in his childhood like "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," which inspired the title of the album, according to Paul's official websote. The song, originally sung by Fats Waller in 1935, opens with “I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter and make believe it came from you. I’m gonna write words oh so sweet. They’re gonna knock me off of my feet. A lot of kisses on the bottom, I’ll be glad I got ‘em’.” Other standards include ''Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive" and "Bye Bye Blackbird.'' Hardcore fans may appreciate two new McCartney compositions and has two new songs, "My Valentine" with Eric Clapton and "Only Our Hearts" with Stevie Wonder. The former Beatle recorded the album with the help of Diana Krall and her backing band. More info: www.paulmccartney.com
