South Florida's hottest parties at a glance.
Summer is winding down, but that doesn’t mean that South Florida is short on entertainment. It’s the calm before the storm as we get ready for one of the busiest months of the year leading up to Labor Day. Here are some of my top picks of events for this week.
Wednesday, Aug. 1
Make Hip Hop History with DJ Irie
320 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach
Red Star Access and SET nightclub welcome world famous DJ Irie to the take over the 1’s and 2’s to give us a mid-week fix of some of the best hip-hop and R&B. SET is bringing sexy back, you’ll be surrounded with some of the finest socialites Miami has to offer so remember to dress to impress if you want to get into this party. Door opens at 11pm, general admission is $25, and table reservations are strongly suggested.

Friday, Aug. 3
Highbar Happy Hour at Dream South Beach
1111 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
Highbar, the rooftop lounge at DREAM South Beach, has revamped it's cocktail menu for the start of its new Sunset Happy Hour. Everyday of the week from 7pm to 9pm head to Highbar to enjoy $7 beers as well as the new "7 Deadly Sins" inspired cocktails created by esteemed mixologists. Pride, Lust, Envy- pick your poison and say goodbye to the office blues at this rooftop lounge with ocean views.
Pirate Stereo takes over Chalk
1234 Washington Ave., Miami Beach
Jump start your weekend at Chalk Ping Pong & Billiards Lounge for special guest DJ Laura of Miami and Pirate Stereo alongside resident Andrew Ward. Saturday, Aug. 4
Felo & Peri at Wall
2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
This weekend New York DJ/Production team duo Felo & Peri are coming to WALL Lounge at the W to party it up with the hottest nightlife mavens and socialites around. Get the night started with an opening set by resident Chicco Secci before the duo take over to drop hits like their latest release “Subzero” and more. Doors open at 11pm, dress code is strictly enforced (admission is at the discretion of the doorman. General admission is $60.

Swanky Tunes at LIV
4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
Saturday nights at LIV are always memorable and this week the party continues as the DJ trio Swanky Tunes takes over the decks to drop some of the best progressive and electro house tracks to keep you moving all night long. Get on your feet and dance to high-energy hits like “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, “ Waves” and more.
Doors open at 11pm, tickets are currently $75 for the ladies and $125 for the gentlemen in advance at Wantickets.com.
Other events at LIV this week Wednesday it’s the LIVympics with sounds by DJ Ruen, Contra, and Jessica Who. Thursday get wild with Deniz Koyu and Friday get in the mix with Rev Run and DJ Ruckus.
Sunday, Aug. 5
Summer Sundays at the Mayfair
3000 Florida Avenue, Coconut Grove
Summers are all about fun in the sun and lounging poolside. The Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Coconut Grove launched Summer Sundays every Sunday from 1-7pm through Labor Day. Relax under the cabanas for only $150 for 6 people and enjoy a bucket of beers, frozen grapes, two liters of sparkling or still water and iced aromatherapy towels from the spa. Valet is only $5
