So you made it through one of the craziest Labor Day weekends in the past few years and now you’re ready for more. Well, I got you covered.  This week is a tad bit relaxed to give everyone a chance to re-charge (and save some cash), but it doesn’t mean there aren’t some great events going on.  Here are my top picks.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 1
Brazilian Independence Day at Mansion

This week the very colorful and vibrant Brazilian Independence Day heads to Mansion nightclub for a special edition of International Wednesdays. Prepare for a LIVE performance by Miami’s own Mano Santa, bringing traditional Afro-Brazilian tribal sounds to the infamous nightclub.  On the decks you’ll find DJ’s Ron Luna and Konflikt keeping the party going until 5am.

Dirty Hairy continues this week with a special performance by Kissy Sell Out along with Brodinski, and residents Ross One, Contra, and Jessica Who.  LIV nightclub, POPLIFE, Status Miami, and Hush Entertainment have come together again to bring you a stellar night of entertainment. 

Kissy Sell Out is one of the most buzzed about DJ’s in the scene with a unique electric sound that he combines with eccentric beats.  A major player in the London electro scene, Kissy has played in clubs all throughout Europe and is considered “one of the most exciting, charismatic and entertaining DJs of the decade" (according to MixMag).  Some of his hits include the high energy, bass pumping, “Let’s Go” and the track “Come on Over”. 

Alongside Kissy Sell Out will be the fresh and funky Brodinski dropping down a broad range of heavy hitting tracks that will rock you out with body shaking beats. Michael Capponi and Eric Milon invite all of the sexy house heads to join them as they present special guest Richard Grey for a special Direct from Ibiza to Miami performance with an opening set by Lisa Kensington.  This DJ has been around for over 13 years creating amazing dance hits one after the other.  Originally from France, Grey lives in Ibiza, Spain where he produces tracks for Subliminal Records.  Some of his recent releases include “Thriller”, “Warped Bass”, and “Life Goes On”.  Friday head to SET nightclub to get a little taste of Ibiza right here on South Beach. Doors open at 11 p.m. and dress code is strictly enforced.

POPLIFE Miami presents a LIVE performance by Crystal Castles along with Panic Bomber on starting at 10 p.m. that’s open to everyone over the age of 18.   Residents Mike Deuce and Jessica Who will keep the party going strong long into the morning hours.

This Canadian band is known all over the world for their eccentric rambunctious shows that incorporate electronic beats and melancholic productions.  Fresh off the release of their sophomore album Crystal Castles (II), the band is making its way across the country to perform hits such as “Vanished”, “Crimewave”, and “Untrust Us”, to name a few.  Grand Central is a perfect venue for this out-of-the ordinary group and the place will be packed with all the indie-pop socialites getting their music fix.  Dress code is trendy chic and the vibe is New York loft meets Miami.  Get to know Crystal Castles Saturday at Grand Central.
