To kick off December we have a jam-packed weekend full of art, music, and great entertainment. It’s time for Art Basel 2011! South Beach is about to be overrun with celebrities, musicians, and artists from around the world who flock to our beautiful city all for the love of art. The line- up include headlining DJs such as David Guetta, Danny Tenaglia, Moby, Victor Calderone, and many more to be announced. Don’t miss out on any of the fun in this art meets music all-star weekend. To get you ready, here’s a sneak peak at some of the events going on around town during Art Basel. WEDNESDAY, NOV. 30
An Eclectic Evening with Macy Gray
3456 N. Miami Ave., Miami
Start your Art Basel early and spend an intimate night with Macy Gray as she performs a special guest DJ set and gives a private performance along with Martin Luther (The Roots), Roosevelt Collier, and more. In addition to the fresh beats, catch a special screening of “The Art of 05:00 Mins”.

Cirque de Mansion
1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach
London’s famed Cirque de Soir is taking over Mansion nightclub for a special Art Basel presentation featuring cool acts of marvel and wonder such as contortionists, a burlesque show, acrobatics, and more. Dance to open format beats while seeing this one of a kind show for the first time ever in Miami. It all starts at 11 p.m.
THURSDAY, DEC. 1
Saturdays Surf NYC Pool Party at the Mondrian
1100 West Ave., Miami Beach
Art Basel is taking over the Mondrian Hotel to bring all of you art lovers an entire week of entertainment day and night. Thursday, hang out poolside for the Surf NYC pool party starting at 1 p.m. while you check out the Mara Hoffman Pop-Up Store. Then, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. prepare for the Mara Hoffman Cocktail party featuring a special fashion presentation and then dance in to the night with the IAMSOUND Mondrian Sessions with Harmony Korine Caput featuring James Franco in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art from 9 p.m. til 2 a.m. at the Sunset Lounge. ART of NIGHT at the Shelborne

For you film buffs, head to the Shelborne for a special screening of the award winning nightlife documentary, Limelight, as part of the ART at NIGHT line-up brought to you by the Shelborne and celebrity photographer Seth Browarnik. It all kicks off at 6 p.m. with the screening followed by a private cocktail party featuring music by DJ Ross One and Rock Jazz Pianist Elew. RSVP is required to attend this event. Machallan House of Stone Tasting at STK

Steinway’s Pop-Up Piano at Louis

Kick-off Art Basel weekend at Louis Bar and Lounge with the first annual Pop-Up Piano series in support of the Steinway Piano Gallery of Miami featuring a musical performance by the Jacob Jeffries band. Guests will enjoy complimentary Belvedere Red Cocktails from 9 – 11 p.m. Once 11 p.m. rolls around, stay tuned for Full Frontal Thursdays featuring an open format mix that will have you dancing all night. Must be 21+ to get in and dress code is trendy chic.
Scope Art Kick-Off Party at SET
320 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach
To kick off Scope Art’s week of events they’re taking over SET nightclub and throwing a major bash with superstar DJ Mick Boogie alongside residents Konflikt and Joe Maz. Model/actress Byrdie Bell will MC the nights festivities. It all starts at 11 p.m., must be 21+ to get in and dress code is strictly enforced.
*Other Art Basel events at SET include Nigel Barker’s “Dreams are not Forgotten” screening after-party featuring a performance by Cirque de Soir on Friday, followed by the invite-only ART MONACO after-party on Saturday featuring music by Art Monaco DJ N’dy.
Music Loves Art Presents NAS

Spotify music and Ricochet Lounge present a 4-day Art Basel Music Series - Music Loves Art, featuring big stars every night. To kick off the weekend mega hip-hop star NAS will be performing LIVE on Thursday night along with Theophilus London and a DJ set by Mark Farina while visual artist Luis Gispert and Rashid Johnson provide artistic entertainment. Throughout the night guests will be able to enjoy cocktails by 42Below vodka and sip away on Arizona beverages. It all kicks off at 8 p.m. each night .For more information call 305-673-3873

F*** ME I’M FAMOUS at LIV
4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach
Celebrate Art Basel at LIV nightclub with special guest, international super star DJ David Guetta and his wife Cathy for their world famous F*** ME I’M FAMOUS event bringing together Miami’s Elite with the world’s most notable trendsetters. Other DJs such as Stephan Luke will be alongside Guetta to rock it out on the turntables and keep you dancing all night long! Doors open at 11 p.m., must be 21+ to get in, and remember to dress to impress (admission at discretion of the doorman). Tickets are already on sale at Wantickets.com (currently $200). Theophilus London and Young the Giant at the Shelborne

As part of the ART of NIGHT series, Bing search engine presents these pair of L.A. headliners, led by the rapping of London, described as soul-pop and post-punk to electro and contemporary R&B. Yelle at Fillmore Miami Beach

Ok, so we know this isn’t a club or lounge party, but Yelle last performed in Miami during Art Basel two years ago at the Art Loves Music event beachside near Collins Park. She’s back in Miami – of course during Art Basel – touring in support of her second album, Safari Disco Club. Expect plenty of solid beats, a sprinkle of electro and plenty of snappy lyrics. MOBY at Mansion
1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach
In a special Art Basel Edition of While Others Play House We Play Mansion, world renowned DJ/Producer Moby heads to South Beach to take the stage for a special guest DJ set at Mansion alongside resident Laurent Simeca. Dance to music off MOBY’s latest album, Destroyed. See this legendary artist do his magic on the turntables for one night.
Doors open at 11 p.m., dress to impress and I suggest you get there early as this event is likely to sell out fast. Tickets are currently $40 pre-sale at Wanttickets.
Danny Tenaglia at WALL

Learn the Art of Dancing as Art Basel goes in to full swing at WALL Lounge at the W with special guest Danny Tenaglia. It’s going to be a night of techno and progressive house as you rub elbows with Miami’s finest socialites in this exclusive and upscale lounge. Doors open at 11 p.m., you must be 21+ to get in, dress code is strictly enforced and at the discretion of the doorman. Table reservations are highly suggested. Victor Calderone at Club Space

After a night of dancing it up, don’t go home, head to Club Space and watch the sunrise with special guest Victor Calderone as he takes command of the infamous Club Space Terrace. Put on your designer shades and party it up with high energy techno house long in to the afternoon hours! It all starts at 11 p.m. and the Terrace goes strong until 2 p.m. Must be 21+ to get in and prices for admission are currently $20 before midnight and $30 before 2 a.m.
GZA Live at the Stage

For all my true Hip-Hop lovers, you’re in for a special treat. Hip-hop icon and Wu-Tang Clan member GZA (a.k.a. The Genius) is taking to the stage to perform LIVE for a special Art Basel Final Finale on Saturday night. Also performing LIVE is Rebel Music artist Lambsbread alongside music by DJ Klassik. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission is $20 pre-sale and $25 at the door. You must be 21+ to get in.
Scope Closing Party at Mokai
235 23rd St., Miami Beach
Scope Art continues to party it up on South Beach through the weekend as Model Lisella Montenegro hosts the official closing party at Mokai with music by special guests Equal and Silver Medallion along with Alej Varez and Andres Fresko. Method Man at CAMEO

Another suggestion for my hip-hop lovers is on the beach as hip-hop icon Method Man takes the stage at Cameo to host a special edition of Saturdays with the 400 Club featuring music by residents Affect and Mummy. As an added bonus, the first 100 ladies will receive complimentary champagne to toast the night. Doors open at 11 p.m., must be 21+ to get in and dress code is sexy chic.
