It's about to get a lot hauter in Miami compliments of Swim Week 2014 which takes place July 17th to the 21st. And while both Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim and SwimShow are exclusive to the trade and press, there are a spate of open-to-the-public events as listed below:

Who: MIAMI Magazine

What: SPLASHION

Why: MIAMI magazine will host its 6th annual SPLASHION soiree highlighted with a special performance by top charting artists, Nico & Vinz at the historic Fillmore Miami Beach. As an unofficial kick-off to the upcoming swim week festivities, the event will include a six-line fashion show.

When: Wednesday, July 16 from 8 to 11 p.m.

What: FUNKSHION

Why: Now in its 27th season, FUNKSHION fuses music and fashion like no other.

When: Wednesday, July 16 to Saturday, July 19th.

Who: Peroni Italy What: Peroni Italy’s 2014 Emerging Designer Series Miami Swim Week

Why: Think Project Runway where the winner is crowned as Peroni’s 3rd Annual Emerging Designer Series champ and will be awarded a trip to New York Fashion Week as well as a complete runway production showcasing their full line at Swim Week 2015 in Miami.

When: Wednesday, July 16 at 8 p.m.

Who: Allure Magazine

What: Allure Lounge at Hyde Beach at SLS South Beach

Why: Freshen up between the shows and soirees with express manicures, dry styling, eyebrow shaping and more — plus exclusive gift bags.

When: Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20 from 12 to 5 p.m.

Where: Hyde Beach at the SLS South Beach, 1701 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

Who: Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers (ABEST), the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT)

What: The three Brazilian groups will host the Fashion Beyond Summer Pop-Up

Why: ABEST, Apex and ABIT will take over the exclusive Soho Beach House to showcase Brazil’s top designs and latest looks on the playa.

When: Friday, July 18 to Monday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Who: Grey Goose Vodka and Style Saves

What: Grey Goose presents Style Saves at Soho Beach House

Why: Now in its third year, this can’t-miss show with a feel-good factor will boast designs by Trina Turk, Kai Lani and Del Toro.

When: Friday, July 18 at 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.

What: Pop-Up Shop at Delano South Beach

What: A pool party and trunkshow with the off-beat brand at Boulan Hotel's rooftop pool.

What: Ready, Set, Swim

Why: Watch as bikini-clad models walk the pool-top runway at this 3rd annual cocktail party and fashion show at the Bamboo Garden pool of the Riviera Hotel. Guests of age can stay cool with complimentary LIQS cocktail shots, too.
