- Dine and do good tonight (Tuesday, Nov 17) from 6-9pm at Morton’s Miami Beach. Invest $10 (a suggested donation) and enjoy classic cocktails and signature “Bar Bites.” Proceeds benefit Adopt-A-Bear, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting child abuse. For reservation and info call 954-776-1999 x233.
- Thursday, Nov 19 Oceanaire woos with a five-course wine paired dinner coined “One Wine, One Label.” Executive chef Sean Bernal & Wine Director Jorge Morgado are collaborating on the feast featuring Caymus Vineyards. Menu highlights: Alaskan king crab ravioli, crispy skinned Icelandic arctic char, Florida lobster & Australian Wagu strip loin brochette. $85 per person, call 305-372-8862 for reservations.
- Also on Thursday, celebrations begin to mark the arrival of the 2009 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Noveau. Every year on the third Thursday in November, Beaujolais Noveau (a young and fruity wine from France) is released to an international countdown. South Beach gets in on the action this year courtesy of Au Pied de Cochon’s two-week celebration. Festivities kick off Thursday Nov 19 with a happy hour stocked with complimentary tastings, entertainment and a food drive. Festivities continue for two weeks with an ongoing food drive and a special three-course menu slated to run through Nov 25.
- Acqua joins the Beajoulais Noveau festivities with its own celebrations featuring a French bistro menu and complimentary bottle of wine. Look for special menus, enjoy wine discounts from Nov 19-Nov 25 and/or bring your own bottle of French wine and watch corkage fees get waved.
- Friday, Nov 20 Urbanite Bistro kicks off its first Monthly Beer Dinner. Hosted by Chris Montelius of South Florida’s Fresh Beer, the $35 event includes six courses of “eclectic bistro fare” paired with craft beers. Eclectic highlights include woodpecker pear cider with wild mushroom empanadas, Victory Pilsner with alligator egg rolls and Rogue Chocolate Stout with natural short rib. Stay after dinner for live music by Billy Vasquez and the Border Patrol; reserve by Nov 18 at 305-374-0662.
