A La Folie

Diners might well walk into this casually stylish spot and think they’ve been zapped to a café in Paris. It’s actually named for the town in Brittany from which the young French owner’s mom hails, so it’s fitting that the specialty is authentic Breton crepes. Savory pancakes, made from buckwheat flour, cover the day from breakfast’s Total (ham, cheese, mushrooms, and egg) to dinner’s Normande (veal and mushroom chunks in Calvados cream sauce); mustard vinaigrette-dressed side salads make these a full meal. For dessert, sweet white flour crepes range from simple butter and sugar to a version sinfully stuffed with homemade almond cream and caramelized pears. Sophisticated salads and sandwiches round out the menu.
