While many go to A Fish Called Avalon for the seafood and perfect people-watching scenario on Ocean Drive, it’s the cocktails that are kept closely guarded as the spot’s hidden gems. Stop by for mixologist Rodrigo Herrera’s Berry Mojito – a tangy, sweet tart version of the Miami favorite – and find yourself coming back for more.
Berry Mojito
Prepare a chilled tall cocktail glass
Muddle 4 mint leaves
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar
Squeeze and add in 3 lime wedges
Add 1 ounce of strawberry puree
Add 2 ounces of cranberry juice
Add 2 ounces of berry flavored vodka (Three Olives Berry Vodka preferred)
Hemingway
Prepare a chilled cocktail glass
Muddle 4 mint leaves
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar
Squeeze and add 3 lime wedges
Add 2 ounces of Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
Add 2 ounces of White Rum (Mount Gay rum preferred)
Top off with champagne
Garnish with a fresh sugar cane
