Concept, small portions, fun, execution a problem. Lunch was ok, but excruciatingly slow.
I wanted to celebrate the welcoming of 2010 in a more relaxed setting than I had in the years before and stumbled upon an ad on http://www.noo.com that initiated a dinner with my mom and sis at miniBAR! It was awesome from the start (sat down to eat at 9:00 pm) and found ourselves still there chit chatting and moving to an amazing ambiance of varied music and crowd beyond midnight. The menu consisted of a fixed 5 course meal for $75 per couple to include a bottle of champagne. I started off with the black eyed pea soup which was bursting with flavor and a subtle hint of hot spice!...went on to a soft, melted in your mouth champagne risotto, an arugula salad with goat cheese and figs, followed by a main entree of black grouper with boniato (sweet potato) cake, cabbage and carrots....I hardly had room for dessert in spite of these courses being a mini meal, I found a way to make it to a chocolate molten souffle that absolutely bursted in my mouth in pure delight. We were very satisfied and found the staff to be charming, very attentive, happy and simply down to earth, modest and humble, seemingly very grateful to all the guests that all seemed to be caught up in the same daze I was, exceptional food, great music and vibe and definitely an amazingly different way to end a year and commence a new one. I give them 5 stars!! And will without doubt or hesitation return to try everything on their menu! I became a fan of minibar and will keep tabs on any event they plan on hosting, encourage you to do as well. http://www.minibarmiami.com... Read more
