Miami Spa Month 09
Spa junkies, get ready to de-stress your bodies, minds and wallets.
By Maria Tettamanti
Spa junkies, get ready to de-stress your bodies, minds and wallets. Yes, wallets. With the second annual Miami Spa Month underway during the month of July, Zen zealots can get their R&R on for the special price of $99.
Organized by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Miami Spa Month is akin to the group’s successful Miami Spice event, where locals can get a taste of the good life for less.
Emena Spa owner and Miami Spa Month participant Christina Kesaris says, “We are getting such a great response from Spa Month. We love it and the clients are loving us too!”
ESPA Assistant Spa Director Kerrie Nelson adds, “The event is a great opportunity to bring new people to ESPA and to create awareness in the local community. It gives people an insight into the ESPA culture.”
Spas such as Agua (The Delano), The Biltmore Spa, Canyon Ranch, Jurlique Spa (Mayfair Hotel) and more are participating in the month-long celebration and here are our top five picks:
Aquanox at The Trump International Beach Resort
The Donald doesn’t mess around in the boardroom and he’s just as serious about his spas, too. Aquanox’s Spa Month contribution includes a 50-minute Aromatherapy massage and facial with Kerstin Florien products.
Aquanox at The Trump International Beach Resort, 18001 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach; (305) 692-5730.
Located in the de rigueur Design District, Emena is the area’s first eco-luxury spa using Eminence Organics products. For Spa Month, they’re offering a 55-minute Customized Organic Facial and 60-minute Integrative Massage.
“Both treatments are divine!” Kesaris says.
Emena Spa, 180 NE 39 Street, Suite 223, Design District; (305) 438-3777.
ESPA at Acqualina Resort & Spa
The uber chichi Sunny Isles-based spa is offering a 40-minute massage and 20-minute facial combination. Guests are also granted all-day access to their luxe facilities that include crystal steam rooms, ice fountains, experience showers, Finnish saunas, private spa terrace, oceanfront swimming pool and heated jet pool, indoor relaxation lounges, thermal heat areas and Roman waterfall.
Nelson says, “This gives guests a chance to experience the best of what we have to offer.”
ESPA at Acqualina Resort & Spa, 17875 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach; (305) 918-8000.
The Palms Spa
Nestled inside Miami Beach’s The Palms Hotel & Spa’s private lower lobby, this Aveda goodies spa is serving up a variety of massages, mani/pedi and facial combinations. The best perk aside from the $99 price tag? Spa guests are granted full access to the resort’s pool, beach, restaurant and bar facilities.
The Palms Spa at The Palms Hotel & Spa, 3025 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; (305) 534-0505.
Spa at Icon Brickell
Step into this Phillip Starck dream and be whisked away with their specials consisting of a 60-minute Canvas massage, 60-minute Quenched facial, 75-minute Tropical Bliss body scrub and massage or one-hour each Viceroy mani and pedi.
Spa at Icon Brickell, 465 Brickell Avenue, Miami; (305) 503-0369.
