Brickell is getting a sprinkling of dirt — and that’s a good thing.
Chef Nicole Votano‘s South Beach restaurant, Dirt, which offers a variety of healthful options and entire separate menus for vegan, vegetarian, and Paleo diets, is opening a second location in Mary Brickell Village. The restaurant will open early next year, Votano said.

“I’m excited to be able to touch more people with the style of food we’re doing — high quality food that’s responsibly sourced,” Votano said.
Dirt’s menu is loaded with fresh ingredients from nearby farms, from Homestead to West Palm Beach. The restaurant bills itself as a place where “clean eating and great taste coexist.” It also is a juice bar, and offers a variety of housemade juices, smoothies and teas. It also has several grab-and-go options for commuters and lunch-at-your-desk crowds.
The menu ranges from acai bowls to salads and hearty bowls with veggies like curried cauliflower to quino-crusted fish poboys and herb-marinated grass-fed beef sandwiches.
Votano first made a name for herself at downtown’s Fooq’s, fresh off three years working under chef Michelle Bernstein at Crumb on Parchment in the Design District. Her inventive and flavorful cuisine bent toward bright, exotic flavors, all locally sourced, which she turned into a full concept at Dirt.
