Apparently there are many definitions of the word ‘rebel,’ but if you use the dictionary, it says a rebel is “a person who rises in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or ruler.” When it comes to steakhouses, however, STK feels a little rebellious, not in the inappropriate use of an apostrophe in a press release or anything, but in a way that makes the expense-accounting, celeb-freeloading, high-roller concept of carnivory accessible by the hoi polloi.
Enter STK Rebel, opening sometime this year at 1100 Biscayne Blvd. in the ME Hotel which is inside the Marquis Miami condo building.
As with its richer sibling, not yet open due to a sprinkler accident in its almost new location on Collins Ave., this one will feature a DJ and steak. But, like Kim and Khloe, the twain couldn’t be more different. The official spin is this:
“STK Rebel is a more accessible version of STK. It embodies the same unique vibe and energy and offers a broader menu and price point that appeals to a national and international market.”
