The newest South Florida location of Salsa Fiesta, the fast-casual chain that originated in Caracas, Venezuela, is testing out a new concept: flex-casual dining.
The Miami Lakes restaurant, which opened last month at 6769 Main St., offers Salsa Fiesta’s traditional counter service during weekday lunch, then transitions into a full-service, order-from-your-table restaurant at dinner and on weekends. The servers will even make guacamole at your table.
“We are excited to offer the additional element of tableside service, which provides a more upscale experience at no extra cost and still stays true to the quality and price point [our guests have] come to know and love,” CEO and co-founder Cesar Olivo says.
Other South Florida restaurants offer similar concepts. OTC Restaurant in Brickell (its initials stand for Over the Counter) changed from an order-at-the-counter format to table service last year. And Buns & Buns in South Miami has customers place their initial orders at a counter, then waiters roam the dining room to take follow-up orders for food and drinks.
Miami Lakes marks Salsa Fiesta’s sixth South Florida location. The 100-seat restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.
