Did someone say Pinot Noir? Sideways may have punched the varietal in the gut, but Miami.com and Wine 69 decided it was about time to bring back the PN glory days. So, Wino Confidential writer and vino vixen Dinkinish O’Connor prepared a rock star-themed blind tasting: bring back the glory of PN by bringing back the glory of the ’80s. Michael Jackson "Human Nature" was unveiled to be a 2005 Rutz Cellars French Cuveé ($22); Madonna "Justify My Love" a 2006 from Stubbs Vinyeard, Marin County ($67 and a crowd fave); Prince "When Doves Cry" a 2005 from Inman Family Russian River Valley ($60); and Robert Palmer "I Didn’t Mean to Turn You On" a 2006 D’Autrefois ($10). Yes, $10. And many chose this one as their favorite. Here’s to cheap taste during a recession.
