Pokémon Go lures diners to SuViche South Beach

The Pikachu Passion cocktail at SuViche South Beach (Handout)

Meet Miami’s newest restaurant promoter: Pikachu.

The restaurant SuViche South Beach is just one local restaurant hopping on the Pokémon Go trend by offering more than snack and drink special for happy hour. The restaurant will be using a so-called “lure,” a feature in the app-based mobile game that draws catchable characters to the restaurant between 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 2.

It’s all Pokémon, down to the drink: a free Pikachu Passion cocktail with the purchase of an entree, when players catch a Pokémon there, post it to social media and tag the restaurant. The drink — made with sake, passion fruit, mango and simple syrup — will be in addition to two-for-one drinks and buy-one-get-one half-off sushi.
