If the 2016 presidential race hasn’t driven you to drink yet, it should now.
Mezcal Viejo Indecente is making its own potent political statement via a drink that may not build a wall, but one that may have you hitting one should you imbibe in one too many. The Sorry Donald cocktail, available at The Broken Shaker, is a mix of Viejo Indecente Mezcal, Mellow Corn whiskey, tamarind, cinnamon, lime and Modelo Especial.
“I wanted to sneak in a little jab at the man who was (at the time) still kind of a ‘joke’candidate,” said Broken Shaker’s Brian Griffiths. “Living in Miami, a city which embraces and celebrates immigrants and diversity as much or more than any other city in the United States, helped inspire me to make a cocktail in his honor.
“After his comments on immigration, I decided we should do a cocktail that included traditionally American ingredients (like Corn Whiskey and Cinnamon) and incorporate some traditionally Mexican ingredients (Mezcal, Tamarind, Lime, and Modelo Especial). The resulting cocktail took shape and became the Sorry Donald.”
Party politics have never been so intoxicating. Cheers.
