Lique Restaurant & Lounge opens on Intracoastal Waterway in North Miami Beach

A new place for late-night eats in North Miami Beach: Lique, a restaurant and lounge in the former Rouge Waterfront on the Intracoastal at 3957 NE 163rd St.

Set to soft-open this week (including a Thanksgiving Day feast) and have a grand opening Dec. 4, Lique will serve Mediterranean-influenced sharing plates as well as sushi and raw-bar options until 1 a.m. on weekdays, 2 a.m. on weekends. A lounge will do its thing until 4 a.m. daily.

Executive chef Renato Medeiros will oversee the kitchen, with sushi chef Wing Wong handling that portion of the menu behind a 40-foot ice bar.

Lique co-owner Alex Podolny had opened Rouge in late 2011 (the grand opening included a white tiger and Dennis Rodman). He and Peter Cumplido of Trust Hospitality Group also own Sweet Nectar Charcoal Grill on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.

Lique’s 1,000-foot dock will allow guests to arrive by boat if they wish. The indoor/outdoor dining space has room for 220.
