How you can get your gourmet doughnut fix in Miami Beach

The Salty Donut gets a permanent locale in Wynwood. Handout

Here’s another ding toward your summer beach body.

Wynwood’s weekend gourmet doughnut shop, The Salty Donut, is starting another pop up, this time at the rebranded Confidante Hotel, the former Thompson Hotel in mid-beach.

Starting July 16, Miami Beach doughnut aficionados will no longer have to cross the bridge to Wynwood to stand in line Friday through Sunday (hoping they don’t sell out) for artisanal doughnuts with flavors such as maple glazed, brown butter salt and weekly specials, such as recent Key lime and passion fruit glazed.

No more standing in line on the desolate Wywnood street in the hot sun. From Thursdays through Sundays, 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., doughnut lovers can eat their spoils at the pool-side beach house (read: air conditioning) at the Confidante, surrounded by the hotel’s lush tropical gardens.
