Here are four new Miami restaurants to try in August

Causa de pulpo (octopus) at Doral's Pisco y Nasca

First Look takes you inside some of South Florida’s hot new restaurants. Here are four Miami.com columnist Sara Liss tried in July.

Pisco y Nasca, Doral

“A sprawling space that encompasses private dining rooms, a buzzing bar and an outdoor patio, the interior feels and looks very similar to the Kendall location…Prices are reasonable given the stylish trappings…. This homegrown brand of hip Peruvian continues to woo suburbanites looking for creative cooking in an unlikely setting.”

8551 NW 53rd St., Suite A101, Doral; 786-805-4344

Sugar at EAST, Miami

“The posh East Miami outpost that just opened in Brickell City Center debuted Sugar, their rooftop lounge perched on the 40th floor of the hotel…. Asian tapas. Plates are served in easily shareable bite-sized portions….One of the swankiest rooftops in the city is also a scenic spot for Asian bites and drinks.”

788 Brickell Plaza, 40th floor, Miami; 786-805-4655

Pizza & Burger at Michael Mina 74

“The summer of pop-up’s continues with Michael Mina 74 at Fontainebleau Miami Beach being taken over by Pizza & Burger…. The subterranean dining room below the hotel’s lobby has been given playful elements with the addition of a Foosball table, photo booth, card games at the tables and servers outfitted in suspenders and Converse sneakers…. A more casual, wallet-friendly concept pops up just in time for summer.”

4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4636

Bulla Gastrobar, Doral

“Bigger than its sibling outpost this one features indoor and outdoor seating…. Modern tapas. Many of the familiar dishes from the Coral Gables menu have made their way to this location but the main difference for this outpost is that the kitchen here possesses a Josper oven, a grill/oven hybrid that smokes and grills food at the same time…. Doral’s dining scene continues to evolve with this lively tapas spot.”

5335 NW 87th Ave., #C102; 305-260-6543
