Following the recent sale of the SLS South Beach for approximately $125 million, sbe has moved on–north, specifically, joining forces with The Related group to debute their latest joint venture, Hyde Beach Kitchen + Cocktails (HBKC), on September 1.
The three-story oceanfront space is being described as a “lifestyle destination” and will have three separate food and beverage outposts curated by Chef Danny Elmaleh, and the only food and beverage service on the sand in Hallandale Beach. Among the signature dishes on the New American menu: wasabi tuna tartar with avocado, citrus, ponzu and bubu arare; pumpkin butter rolls with maple butter and rosemary salt; oxtail bucatini; and branzino with cannellini beans, cherry tomatoes, nicoise olives and artichokes.
“The menu here brings an eclectic selection of offerings, each inspired by the venue’s location and view, with an emphasis on a variety of colors and fresh, light flavors,” Elmaleh says.
A funhouse for Hallandale Beach hipsters if there are such things, HBKC’s first floor will feature a signature Ciel Spa, fitness center and casual open-air eatery serving breakfast and lunch served in beach-approved containers for guests to enjoy on the sand. Guests may also reserve beach chairs and enjoy a “daycation” in the sun.
The indoor/outdoor second floor will feature seating for 250 including lounge areas, a grander selection of Elmaleh’s New American cuisine. The third floor will bring a private members club featuring day pool, and members’ only food and booze.
“sbe is excited to announce this new food, beverage and Beach Club concept with Related Living. We look forward to bringing our collaborative vision of HBKC to Hallandale Beach,” says John Kolaski, sbe’s COO of Restaurants.
